Yeti MTe Leaked: A Featherweight Trail Slayer with TQ Power
Yeti Cycles is about to release what it looks like a serious contender in the lightweight e-MTB category: the Yeti MTe. While official specs remain under wraps, leaked images give us a compelling look at this sleek new machine—and hint at a very modern, high-performance build aimed squarely at the trail and enduro crowd.
The Yeti MTe frame made of carbon maintains the iconic Yeti silhouette, complete with the brand's signature turquoise color option (also available in stealth black). The frame design borrows heavily from the SB-series bikes, with a compact rear triangle and aggressive stance that suggests it’s built for serious descending and nimble climbing.
From the photos, the MTe is running Fox Factory suspension front and rear, with a likely 160mm/150mm travel setup. That places it in the all-mountain/enduro category. The switch infinity linkage is present, signaling Yeti’s commitment to performance-oriented kinematics even in an e-bike chassis.

One of the biggest talking points is the motor system. While not confirmed, the slim downtube and minimal integration footprint strongly suggest that this bike is using the TQ-HPR50 system—a lightweight, modular powertrain known for blending seamlessly with traditional bike feel.

If true, this means:
~50Nm of torque
~300W peak power
360Wh battery
Total system weight under 3.9kg
This makes it one of the lightest and most discreet e-bike systems on the market, offering just enough support for long climbs while maintaining an ultra-natural pedal feel. If you're coming from an analog enduro or trail bike, this setup feels like home—just with a little extra help.
The leaked site images show three build kits for the Yeti MTe:
C2 E90 Transmission – $6,300 USD
T3 X0 Transmission – $8,150 USD
T4 XX Transmission – $9,172 USD
These builds feature SRAM Transmission drivetrains, DT Swiss wheels, and high-end finishing kits. Pricing clearly positions the MTe as a premium offering, in line with Yeti’s brand identity.
