UNNO Launches the MITH: A New Era With DJI’s Avinox Motor
The Spanish brand UNNO becomes one of the latest high-end bike manufacturers to integrate DJI’s Avinox motor system into its eMTB lineup, joining Canadian brand Forbidden in adopting this new motor technology that promises enhanced performance.
Press release:
For the development of the new MITH, we’ve committed ourselves to the project like never before. We’ve spent countless 16 to 20-hour days and a few sleepless nights, ensuring no detail was overlooked. We went through 135 iterations. From those, we refined 14 proposals and narrowed them down to 1. Then, we built 3 mule prototypes and kept refining them until we committed to the final carbon version of the bike. Since receiving the first testing mule in April 2024, we’ve been on the bike nearly every day. Whether in the early mornings, late nights, rain, or shine, our commitment to testing has never been stronger.

As of today, we’ve ridden over 5.500 kilometers and climbed more than 250.000 vertical meters (two-thirds to the space station), along with a few extra scars. In the end, it’s all worth it because we get to do what we love most: riding and developing bikes.

The new MITH eliminates the barriers between regular and electric bikes. It represents an evolution that speaks for itself; no other company has achieved this until now.

With 170/160mm of travel, a mullet setup, and DH casing tires, it weighs only 46.7 lbs (21.2 kg), and thanks to DJI's Avinox system with its 800Wh battery and refined kinematics, it offers a powerful and exceptional riding experience. This is probably the first bike that it will be very tough to tell that it’s a full-power e-bike. Most people will think you’re riding an SL or even a regular Enduro bike. We even fit the 800Wh battery into our S1 frame with 430mm of reach.
DJI AVINOX – the most compact and powerful system available
Initially, we started testing the new Mith with a different motor, but late in the development process, we had the chance to try the DJI Avinox. We saw how much better it was than every other system on the market and how compact you could make the bike, that we decided to choose this one instead as the drive unit. It was a big commitment from the whole team to re-develop and adjust the frame to fit the DJI system, but at the same time, it was a no-brainer. It’s the philosophy of UNNO anyway, to be in the pinnacle of innovation, so it made no sense to do it other way.

We've shortened the seat tube and increased the insertion by 60mm to fit longer dropper posts in all sizes while keeping our disruptive and unique frame design. Now, bikes come with 150mm dropper posts in S1, 180mm in S2 and 210mm in S3.

We’re bringing back the unique UNNO look from our first made-in-Barcelona frames from back in the day to our MITH Factory and Pro models. The twill fabric finish is not only cosmetic but adds more impact resistance than the UD finish.

Larger And Sealed Bearings
We’ve listened closely to our customers’ feedback, and now we offer larger bearings with a 4x load increase compared to the previous ones. Dust guards shield all bearings from mud, dirt, and water, enhancing their durability. If something happens, they’re also now covered by a lifetime warranty.
