Everything You Need to Know About Continental’s New 2025 Gravity MTB Tire Lineup
Continental has announced a significant update to its mountain bike tire lineup for 2025, introducing three new models—Dubnital, Trinotal, and Magnotal—that replace the long-standing Race King, Cross King, and Mountain King tires. These new additions are designed to cater to a wide range of riding styles and terrains, offering enhanced performance, durability, and grip
The Dubnital is engineered for cross-country (XC) and downcountry riders seeking maximum speed and efficiency. Optimized for dry to damp conditions and ideal for rocky, hardpack, and medium-loose soils, the Dubnital features a tread pattern designed to minimize rolling resistance while maintaining reliable grip. It is available in various casings and compounds to suit different rider preferences and conditions.

The Trinotal offers a balance between speed and traction, making it suitable for XC and downcountry riders who encounter a mix of trail conditions. Designed to perform well in dry to wet conditions, the Trinotal provides stability and grip across hard and loose soils. Its aggressive tread pattern and solid compound ensure dependable performance on varied terrains.

Aimed at aggressive all-mountain and trail riders, the Magnotal excels in dry to wet conditions, handling hard, loose, and muddy soils with ease. As the direct successor to the Mountain King, this all-rounder tire bridges the gap between gravity and XC/downcountry riding, offering exceptional grip and control for riders tackling challenging terrain

The new tires are available in 27.5" and 29" wheel sizes, with widths ranging from 2.2" to 2.6", depending on the model. Continental offers various casing and compound options to cater to different riding styles and preferences. The tires feature updated tread patterns and advanced rubber compounds to enhance performance and durability.
Alexander Haenke, Product Manager for MTB & Gravel at Continental Tires, stated:
“With the introduction of Dubnital, Trinotal, and Magnotal, we are proud to complete the overhaul of our MTB lineup, finally replacing our iconic ‘Kings.’ The new models now seamlessly fit into the nomenclature and logic of our Gravity range tires, and give riders the freedom to use our portfolio as a playground to create their perfect setup.”
Responding to rider feedback, Continental has introduced the SuperSoft compound to its Enduro casing, providing maximum grip for aggressive trail and enduro riders without the added weight of downhill-specific tires.
The Gravity range now offers a mix-and-match approach, allowing riders to select from various combinations of casings and compounds to tailor their setup:
Enduro Casing + SuperSoft Compound: Maximum grip for technical terrain.
Trail Casing + Soft Compound: Balanced grip and rolling resistance.
Trail Casing + Endurance Compound: Enhanced durability for longer rides.

The Gravity lineup now includes additional sizes to accommodate different rider preferences and bike setups:
Kryptotal: Available in 20", 24", 26", 27.5", and 29" sizes.
Argotal: Available in 27.5" and 29" sizes.
Xynotal: Available in 27.5" and 29" sizes
Continental's Gravity range features five distinct tread patterns, each designed for specific trail conditions:
Kryptotal (Front and Rear): All-rounder for mixed conditions.
Argotal: Optimized for loose and loamy terrains.
Xynotal: Designed for hardpack and rocky trails.
Hydrotal: Specialized for wet and muddy conditions
